Ecologist School Houston is Expanding!

Founded in 2022, Ecologist School – Houston is a fun and engaging learning environment for children and families that offers programs for PK3 -  5th grade. Students learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Outdoor Skills, Volunteerism and Leadership through engaging lessons using an informal Science education program called Ecologist School. 

With fast growing popularity, Ecologist School - Houston is now expanding into a larger space for the 2024-2025 school year located in Webster at 901 Oakgrove.




Wondering what makes Ecologist School - Houston unique?

  • PK is play based and predominately child led.
  • There is a high amount of hands-on and project based learning throughout the grade levels
  • Students are broken up developmentally into 3 groups PK, K-2, and 3-5
  • There are options for part time and full-time 
  • Large amount of outdoor play and learning time
  • Students have individualized 1:1 and small group instruction as well as whole group instruction. 
  • Secular Education
  • We are neurodivergent friendly and have students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Addresses the whole child by offering a variety of programs such as: yoga, Physical Education, music, robotics, art, and more.
  • Daily after-school programs including: robotics, nature club, art, STEM, and theater! 
  • Weekly evening class where families enjoy learning about nature and earn badges in 16 different areas of science. 
  • 3-4 Field Trips a semester
  • Service projects 

 


A typical week of an Ecologist School Day Program student will include a variety of activities. The week may start with a trip to the library, followed by a field trip to a local park to read their chosen books.  Items collected on a nature walk may be cataloged using an online nature program. Volunteering may take place at a facility such as the Environmental Institute of Houston, and the week may end with a field trip to the Wolf Sanctuary. An emphasis is placed on spending time outdoors, unstructured play, and child led learning.


School hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30-3:30. Before and after care is available for an additional fee.  Part time students generally attend a few half days or a couple of full days per week. Half days are 9-12 or 12-3.
