We love Curious George!! In fact, I vividly remember my father reading to me about that cute precocious little monkey when I was young and now I do the same for my own kids. George is always getting himself into a little bit of trouble... but that man with the yellow hat always seems to help him out!! What I love most is George encourages kids to be curious... and reminds us as parents that it is natural for kids to not just sit in one place. They need to explore and have adventure!
Can you believe that the original Curious George book was published over 75 years ago?? Now through Houghon Mifflin Harcourt, there are over 100 Curious George stories to read! With titles like "Curious George Goes to the Hospital" and "Curious George Goes to the Beach" there is a book that covers almost everything your child may be experiencing.
Each year, on or around September 16th, thousands of families celebrate H.A. Rey's birthday and Curious George's honorary birthday! Every teacher and specialist will tell you that reading to young children is so important and it is always fun to incorporate activities or even a party around a book that you love!
Last week we decided to celebrate Curiosity Day with a story time hosted by Coco Crepes in League City. Check out the cutest preschool aged kiddos around!
There is so much fun that you can have with a Curious George themed party! In fact, the Curious George Birthday themed books are some of our favorites! We had coloring sheets, tattooes, stickers, and of course - yellow hats!
Afterwards we encouraged the kids to use their creativity and curiosity to decorate their own waffles!
