If you have been following me for awhile now, you know that I like to travel but specifically love the outdoors and drive-able vacations. One of our favorite places to go.... and quite honestly it has become a "second home" or "home away from home" is Splashway Waterpark and Campgrounds in Sheridan, TX. It's a short 2 hour drive from League City and 1000% worth it!
We LOVE to stay in the campground cabins. Each one is the same - which I think contributes to our feeling of a "home away from home" because they are so comfortable for us. In fact - during our recent trip.... we all slept in until 10am! Usually sleeping in hotels or strange places - I am up before the sun rises, but being so comfortable at Splashway... we all slept like babies! The campground is walking distance from the park - making the stay super convenient.
The cabins comfortably sleep up to 10! There is a bedroom downstairs with a queen bed and then 4 queen beds upstairs in the loft. The cabin comes equipped with a stove, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and all of the supplies you need to make a meal – you just bring the food (if you forget anything they have a great camp store on site)! We love to sit outside after dinner and make s’mores and just relax by the fire or head down to the pond for some fishing. There are also usually activities put on by Splashway on the weekends and peddlecarts, mini golf, laser tag all right there for an additional fee. Tent and RV sites are also available. The campground is open year round - for the perfect wholesome get away!

We absolutely LOVE Splashway Waterpark! I tell everyone I know - I am that passionate about it. I admittedly can sometimes be a little leery of public water activities.... but Splashway is hands down impeccably clean! They are also constantly improving the park - you think it can't get any better and it does! This year they renovated some of the younger kids section and also added a brand new - first in the world - duel slide called Dueling Splash Blasters that encourages a little healthy family competition :-). Check out the video:
In addition to being clean - everyone is just SO NICE and it just feels so wholesome. They stop everything to play the National Anthem everyday at 1:00pm and it is very common to hear them announcing for kids to meet their parents over the intercom (not something taboo at all).
To see more of the park - check out the video below, led by 10 year old daughter Madison - who looks forward to coming to Splashway every year and we even spent her birthday there this year!
Some Insider Tips:
1. It is definitely worth it to rent a cabana! It's a great place to tell keep all of your stuff (even comes with a lock box) and to use as a meeting place. We will tell the older kids they can go on two rides and then have to come back to check in. Plus - you can order food and they deliver right to the cabana. Coolers of outside food are also permitted but no glass containers (obviously!).
2. Splash Cash! No need to carry around wet money or credit cards at Splashway. They have wristbands with a QR code that you can load money on called Splash Cash so you can leave the wallet back at the campground! These are also great for allocating "fun money" and for that matter "food money" for the kids.
Splashway Waterpark will be open on weekends through the end of September. Use code MACKID for $5 off tickets.
I received complimentary tickets for my family in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.
