The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center is nestled on 28,000 acres of Texas piney forest making it a true oasis away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The resort features newly renovated guest rooms, amazing dining options (including family friendly pool side dining), 2 golf courses, a beautiful spa, and of course our family's favorite amenity - their Forest Oasis Waterscape that features a wonderful pool with beach entry (so even the very youngest in your group can enjoy splashing in the water) and fun slides for the older kids, a lazy river that twists and turns through the wooded landscape, splash pad, and plenty of seating and umbrellas so you can truly relax. The staff at the resort was super friendly and customer service was top notch!
We spent most of our stay right by the pool - I had packed clothes for a nice dinner, but truly the poolside Cool Water Cafe had every thing that we needed. Our kids loved the fresh smoothies and mommy and daddy loved the adult drinks - with options like Black and Berry mojitos and Dreamsicle Pina Coladas - how can you go wrong? Portions were great - allowing you to get a lot of food for your money and there was something satisfy everyone!
I did get to sneak away to The Spa and was treated to an amazing 50 minute massage, while my husband took the kids on a "hike" on the surrounding nature trails. I felt like quite the princess and not a crazy mommy of 3 kids the minute they handed me my fluffy robe and slippers. The Spa was sooo peaceful and beautiful and in addition to private treatment rooms, also featured a eucalyptus steam room (that seriously smelled amazing), saunas, and whirlpool tubs. I didn't want to leave!
The fun doesn't stop at night at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center! The resort transforms as the sun goes down with fire pits lighting up for s'mores and every evening from Memorial Day to Labor Day there is a family friendly Dive In movie!
We enjoyed Disney's Ratatouille during our stay - complete with complimentary popcorn being passed around by the wait staff!
We had a fabulous stay at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center and I would highly recommend this as a great local vacation for League City/Clear Lake families - really all families!
