Well, dinner tonight in my house was prepared by Flour Patch Catering - Healthy Family Meals to Go. A delicious pot roast, seasoned just right, complete with chopped vegetables marinated in white wine, and a bag of seasoning to add to the crock pot.
I picked up my dinner from owner, Laura Landrum, in Legue City. She gave me complete instructions for cooking my meal. I brought it home, and the next morning I dumped it in the crock pot, turned it on and waited (not so patiently). My house was filled with the delicious smell of the seasonings. I was so impatient that when the meat was cooked but not quite tender yet, I scooped out some of the veggies and juices and ate them. They were good even by themselves.
I cooked my roast until it was my preference of tenderness (fall apart). Then I shredded it a bit and served it with mashed potatoes. It was a hit! And so easy. You know how sometimes you wonder, "Why can't I make my meals at home taste like the ones at a restaurant?" Well, you may not wonder that, but I do. And tonight, I have succeeded in bringing a meal to the table that was better than a restaurant meal. High quality food, excellent seasoning and flavor, no work! All wins in my book. Yay, me!
I told my mom all about Flour Patch Catering. As we chatted, we did the math and realized, that if we were to purchase the ingredients ourselves and prepare these meals, we would be paying close to the price it costs to buy from Flour Patch! Laura uses very high quality, organic ingredients in her meals. And I like that.
She has just about a lifetime of experience catering and baking. She grew up with a mom who catered and baked cakes. Learning as she grew up helping mom, it was a natural fit for her to go into the family biz. She knows what works and has an obvious talent for all things culinary. I have been a fan of Laura's cookies and cakes for some time now, as I was introduced to her cooking through her other business Flour Patch Cakes. When she introduced Flour Patch Catering - Healthy Family Meals to Go, I had no doubt the meals would be of the same quality and yumminess as her baked goods. I love her cakes and cookies, and I knew I would love her healthy meals.
