With headliner, Tracy Byrd, leading up the entertainment, and many others filling the stage with talent, the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo calendar is packed with fun from April 8-16.
In addition to the concert series, the GCFR hosts two cook-offs. The highly regarded cook-offs have a waiting list for new teams. The Seafood Cook-off is held the first week, and the BBQ cook-off is the second week.
Several contests, art shows, livestock shows, rodeo arena events, and a carnival(tickets sold separately) mean this huge event has something for everyone. There is even a Wine Room, "Boots 'n Wine" where you and your friends can sip wine on the patio and enjoy a variety of Texas wines.
You can purchase tickets here for any of the days you would like to attend, or there is the option to purchase a weekly pass (access to all events for all 9 days). The fair and rodeo are held at Jack Brooks Park in Hitchcock (#10 Jack Brooks Park, Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563). You can call the fair offices at 409-986-6010 or visit their website for more info.
