Can you believe it is already spring break this week? Wasn't it just Christmas and now Easter is right around the corner too. I have to say even though it feels like we just had time off, we need this week to relax and take it easy. We are not going out of town but instead doing more of a staycation here in the area.
When I realized last week it was almost spring break, I thought I better plan on doing somethings with the kids. My six year old has been wanting to go to the bouncy house place and because of a great deal on Groupon, I bought five bounce sessions that the kids have been splitting and we also get the punches which add up fast to a free bounce session. So we are planning on doing that one day.
Than like last year, which is now becoming a tradition, we are planning on going to Froberg's Farm to pick strawberries. My kids had a blast with this last year and I think they ate berries until their tummies hurt. That place is just overall fun with all the great produce. My kids eat all of that stuff and love picking out new vegetables to try though we are finding it hard to find something we haven't tried before.
We are also planning on traveling one day to Armand Bayou with a group of friends. I love that place and haven't been in awhile. I saw on their website that they also offer free Sundays which make it even cheaper to go. We pack lunches, and enjoy the nature. I also find it a great place to get some good pictures of the kids plus I love the old farm over there. One of my favorite photos of my son is of him sitting on the stairs of the house just looking at the pond.
We also are hoping to Rodeo it one day and we are planning on going early to beat the afternoon crowds. The kids aren't all that interested in the actual Rodeo but love to do the Farm to Market activity and see all the animals. Each year we spend at least an hour of them running around the animals and making all the sounds of the animals.
I figure we might also go see a movie and of course the kids are starting soccer practice this week. Both kids are super excited to start and have been outside almost every day with their soccer balls practicing and of course arguing like crazy over whose turn it is with the ball. My three year old has asked every day since he got his soccer stuff when we were going to start playing.
It will be just nice to not have to get up every morning and run around to get off to school. We can get up, take our time, and well if we don't want to go any where, we don't have to. The recharge will be nice because than we are off to the last nine weeks of school which include my parents visiting, Miss O's birthday and lots of soccer games!
