Uncle Milton National Geographic Explorer Toys

Review Part 1

By Lindsay Flagan August 12, 2012
I am so excited to have the opportunity to review Uncle Milton's National Geographic Explorer Toys! I will be having my little explorers play with a few of these toys in the next few weeks and will publish our thoughts and adventures here!
This week we played with the All Terrain Nature Collector, 4-in-1 Explorer Navigation Tool, and the Earth Tag.  What I loved about these toys is that each comes with a cute activity guide that offers creative ways to  use the toy - something that I know all parents appreciate!

First up is the  All Terrain Nature Collector!  I have a three year old daughter that is interested in bugs and critters but would never touch them - she screams and runs the other way!  This is THE perfect toy for her!  Using the included clear domes that snap on to the collector, kids can find a bug or other item they are interested in looking at without having to touch it!  This toy also comes with a great activity guide that suggests creating a game in which points are assigned to certain items kids need to find - options are endless - items in your yard, at the beach, or even make a game assigning points to how much litter they pick up!  Hmmm, perhaps this could even be used to get them to clean their room!  Remember you can use this toy with or without the domes!

Next up we have the 4-in-1 Explorer Navigation Tool.  The 4-in-1 Explorer Navigation Tool includes a Whistle, Compass, Signal Mirror, and Thermometer.  The activity guide included with this toy encourages kids to map out a path to a nearby friend's home, mark down the temperature at various times of the day, and learn to communicate using the whistle and/or signal mirror.  Lots of fun in one toy!

And finally we have the Earth Tag!  I am usually a little leery of introducing kids to a slingshot, but once I understood the intent of this toy - I love it!  The Earth Tag is not intended to aim at anything alive (so no siblings, family dog, etc).  Instead kids are encouraged to shoot the soft balls and identify the type of plant, tree, rock etc that they land on!
These toys are currently being offered at a great discount on Amazon.com!

Uncle Milton provided my family with these toys for the purpose of this review.  Opinions are my own.
