How are those Resolutions Coming?

By Rebecca Benson March 10, 2012

So let me guess you started off the year with high hopes and now well those resolutions have lost their luster or are you the few that have kept it up and are thriving with the those goals you created on January 1?

Let's say we have been pretty good around here with them.  I have lost another ten pounds since January and basically hit my goal weight of about 45 pounds lost. I am working on toning myself up more which in itself is like totally starting anew with this thing because I have to create a new habit to add into my daily life. I haven't honestly been that great with that!

The television thing that I talked about as well has been going okay. I personally have cut down and feel my husband has as well. With my cut down, the two year old is at my level of watching but the five year old still needs to be worked on. She was sick all this past weekend and we had to listen to the Platypus Marathon on Disney all Saturday when my husband finally had enough and it was off.

We got a new computer which has given her some inspiration to do her online school programs she likes. She has become a quick learner in figuring it out and has taught the two year old some stuff. I am trying to focus her with fun learning stuff rather than the garbage that is on television.

I have also been way more crafty since the beginning of the year and got some ideas for creations off lots of different websites. I am loving this goal of my mine to explore more in the craft realm and try things outside my comfort zone in that area. I tried my hand at some painting which turned out okay but at least I tired. My husband has also been trying to be more creative and his crafty projects are all over the house too.

For us so far so good with just keeping up the momentum of those goals we set out for ourselves at the start of the year. We still have room to grow but overall it is at a growth that I like. Not to fast or radical in the changes.  We are now at a comfortable stride with them. We are feeling better overall because we are stretching ourselves.

If you are struggling, revisit what you set for yourself and start anew with it. I always feel that it is never to late to do something to improve your life and that is what these resolutions or goals are all about. Taking control no matter how small it might be is good way to move forward in life.

Now I need to work on additional things that I wanted to accomplish I still want to work more on my photography and add to my portfolio of great shots. I have been really good on taking a photography almost every day for a 365 day project I am doing. It has been fun looking back just over the last two months, so at the end of the year, it should be a blast.

Don't be frustrated if you started something and it isn't done- life itself is one huge ongoing project, and you can always add and take away as needed. Think about ways you can get started- do some spring cleaning or work on your yard. Volunteer for something like at the kid's school or at the local pet shelter. Do something to help you feel positive. Sometimes, just taking time for yourself is all that it needs to be. Stay positive and enjoy life!!!
